August 23, 1953 — March 10, 2023

Nancy L. Harper was called home to be with Our Lord in paradise on March 10th, 2023 in Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 69.

Nancy was born August 23rd, 1953 to Donald C. Griggs Sr and Ellen Griggs. Nancy and her brother, Donald Jr grew up at the Sand Springs Children’s Home. She graduated from Charles Pages High School in 1971 and went to college at Rogers States University graduating with an accounting degree.

In 1976, Nancy married Bobby D. Harper and she gave birth to their son, Toby D. in September 1980. She worked for Jarboe’s Sales Company for over 30 years in the accounting department and later as a cashier in the warehouse for the drivers. She was known for her contagious laugh that could be heard down the halls.

Because of her love of singing, Nancy and Bobby D began singing karaoke. Her favorite songs to sing were “Bobby’s Girl”, “Out of your shoes”, “End of the World”, and “Nobody”.

No one will forget her annual Christmas parties filled with family and friends gathering to celebrate Jesus’s birthday and enjoying all the wonderful dishes including her taco soup. She never forgot to sing “Happy Birthday” or to have the children blow out the birthday candle for him. She was the “Hostess with the Mostest”. She had a great love of cooking, recipes, and sharing them.

Nancy was a long-time member of Lawnwood Freewill Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship and bible study. She never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile!

Nancy is survived by her son, Toby D and daughter in law, Irene, step-daughter, Tracy, granddaughter, Courtney and her great grandchildren, Alliyah, Bubba, and Skye of Tulsa, OK, also her Aunt Janie and Uncle Homer and many cousins in Locus Grove, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby D and brother, Donald Jr.

She was loved by many extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
