Karen Ann Yost

Karen Ann Yost of Mulhall, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 78 on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026. Karen was born September 2, 1947, in Guthrie, Oklahoma at Benedictine Heights and shared the same birthday as her mother, Dorothy. Karen was a Purcell Dragon, grew up in Purcell, Oklahoma, graduating in 1965. She was first chair in the band with a saxophone and was a graduate of Draughn's School of Business in Oklahoma City. Karen was an avid reader, loved painting, crafting, and playing the piano. She also had a talent for making amazing silk floral arrangements. She had various jobs, but eventually retired from Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement, where she was assistant to the executive director. Karen is survived by two daughters, Teresa L. Baldwin of Mulhall, OK (husband Aaron), and Jennifer A. Mooney of Mulhall, two grandchildren, Josephine Mooney of Blackwell and Nick Baldwin of Mulhall, and two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Eric. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy M. Yost, and father Vern "Whitie" Yost (both of Mulhall), grandparents Ed and Peggy Smith (Guthrie), and Albert Sr. and Laura (Harris) Yost (Mulhall).
