James Gipson Randle, 94, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed from this life back to Heaven on Friday, November 4th, 2016. Known as"Gip" by his family, Mr. Randle was born in Lockhart, Texas on January 22, 1922, middle son of the late Laura (Copeland) and Mark W. Randle, Sr.. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, being honorably discharged before marrying the love of his life, Billie Burke Crouch, in April 1946. They were married almost 69 years when she preceded him in death on February 2, 2015. After graduation from high school in Lockhart, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a degree in Radio Engineering, as he and Billie developed lifelong friendships. Jim went to work as an insurance agent for 25 years after college, and despite a move to Oklahoma, remained close to their parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, as well as his five siblings, and her two sisters all his life. He was a talented athlete, enjoying tennis, basketball, football, and baseball, although his second greatest love was playing golf with his younger brother. He loved gardening and hard work, as well as animals and the outdoors, especially horses and dogs. He was well-acquainted with every hunting season, arranging several times a year to guide others to bring down deer, elk, quail, dove, and pheasant, while fostering his ability to raise and train dogs for field work. Jim was extremely loving and proud of his children, Blake Randle, of Guthrie, daughter Vicki and her husband, Joe Madden, of McLoud, and daughter Martha and her husband, Larry Stalcup, of Broken Arrow. "Big Papa" is survived by dearly beloved grandchildren Katie (Brett) Partington, Ryan Berryhill, Neil (Kristi) Rogers, Kea (Eric) Averill, Stephanie (Tim) Kent, Kaitlin (Sean) Holmes, and Cameron Stalcup, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
