Charles Robert
Milford
Aug 6, 1950 — Oct 25, 2026
Charles Robert “Bob” Milford passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 76.
Bob was born on August 6, 1950, at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Clifford and Jessie Hewes Milford. He graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1968 before moving to Texas, where he attended the University of Houston and earned a degree in History in 1972.
Bob enjoyed a long and successful career with Stewart & Stevenson, where his work afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world. Following his retirement, he devoted his time to his cattle ranch in Slocum, Texas, where he enjoyed the land, his horses, and the life he had built.
A man of intelligence, strong work ethic, and quiet integrity, Bob had a lifelong appreciation for history and a deep love for horses. Above all, he valued his family and the many dear friends he made throughout his life. He will be remembered for his knowledge, his hardworking nature, and the genuine respect he showed to those around him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Jessie Hewes Milford; his brother, Joe Milford; and his sister, Karen Milford Gillespie.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Linda Milford; three nephews, Steve Milford, David Gray, and Lary Gray; four great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cherished friends.
In keeping with Bob's wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, family and friends are encouraged to honor his memory by remembering the intelligent, hardworking, and respectful man he was and the lasting impression he left on those who knew him.
For those wishing to honor Bob's memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Slocum Volunteer Fire Department in Slocum, Texas.
