After graduating high school, Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he made his home in Oklahoma City, where he dedicated many years of service at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement.
Calvin will be remembered by those who knew him as independent, spirited, and a little ornery at times. His brother, Tim, fondly recalled Calvin as a good brother growing up, always keeping life interesting with his mischievous nature. Though Calvin often kept to himself, he deeply cared for his family and took a special interest in the lives of his nieces and nephews, always asking about them as they grew up. He also treasured the friendship of Earvin and Kay Hickerson of Oklahoma, whose friendship spanned more than 50 years.
He leaves behind his brothers, Tim Merson and Ed Merson; his sisters, Bonnie Wagner and Linda Smith; his dear friends, Earvin and Kay Hickerson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Merson I and Marguerite Merson.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
