It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Brandon Taylor Smith. With a gentle heart and a fierce compassion for others, Brandon was a kind spirit who cared deeply for social justice and making the world a more compassionate place. He was a proud vegan, a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for cats, a devoted Star Wars fan, and music aficionado. Brandon was fluent in Spanish (and Donald Duck), and played numerous instruments over the years.
Brandon is survived by mother Cynthia Sterling and husband Tim of Norman; father Stephen D. Smith and wife Sara of Moore; sister Brooke Barnett and husband Jason of Norman; niece Murphy Barnett and nephew Graham Barnett of Norman; cousin Eric Durham of Oklahoma City; and numerous friends and coworkers.
We will miss him beyond words, but we will carry his love, humor, and gentle spirit with us always. In lieu of flowers, we invite those who wish to honor Brandon's memory to make a donation to Norman Animal Welfare (3428 Jenkins Avenue, Norman OK 73072) or contribute items from their wish list to help care for animals waiting for loving homes. Details about his celebration of life to follow. We will miss you, Amoeba Man.
