Thomas Stanton

Thomas Stephen Stanton, 73, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, died February 11, 2017 of pancreatic cancer. Tom was born in Washington, D.C. on December 26, 1943 to the late Paul and Marion Stanton. Tom attended Washington Lee High School in Arlington, VA. He retired as a field engineer in the customer equipment services division of Eastman Kodak Company. Tom married his wife Debby on March 13, 1998 and spent his remaining years ensuring she and her kids were well taken care of. As a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, Tom spent many Sunday afternoons cheering on and yelling at his beloved team. Tom is survived by his wife of almost 19 years, Debby Stanton. Tom was preceded in death by siblings Paul Stanton, John Stanton, Margaret Fisher, Mark Stanton, and Mary McClane. Tom is survived by siblings Michael Stanton and wife Susan of Springfield, VA, Mark's wife Sue Stanton, and Matthew Stanton of Falls Church, VA. Tom is also survived by his son Daniel Stanton and wife Bonnie of Winchester, VA, and daughters Debbie Stanton Weaver and husband Michael of Waldorf, MD, Cheri Stanton of Centreville, VA, and Sandy Stanton. Tom is also survived by five stepchildren including Barry Winchester and wife April, Brant Winchester, Micah Winchester and wife Leslie, all of Sand Springs, OK, Jamie Warcken and husband Greg of LaMoure, ND, and Katie Loftin and wife Amber of Charlottesville, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, whom he loved dearly: Kayleigh Stanton of Winchester, VA, and Blake, Brook, Jack, and Alex Winchester, all of Sand Springs, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Encompass Home Health, Compassus Hospice, and Porta Caeli House for their compassion and loving care.
