P.J. Martin

July 26, 1934 — March 5, 2022

On the morning of March 5, 2022, PJ passed away peacefully after battling complications from a broken hip. PJ was surrounded and comforted by family members at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at the time of her passing. PJ was 87 years old.

PJ was born at home in the town of Dewer, Oklahoma on July 26, 1934 and was the first born child of Buford and Clarice Martin. She graduated from Classen High School and went on to attend The University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Geological Engineering and Bachelors of Science in Physics.

Throughout PJ's life she was recognized for her hard work and accoplishments in school and various jobs she held. After atending OU, PJ went on to work for several different oil companies as a geological engineer. She then began working as a computer programmer where she helped develop the programming for the Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) for the United States Army. She retired from the FAA at the age of 72.

PJ loved worshiping God and regularly attended the Church of Christ throughout her life. Football season was PJ's favorite time of the year, if there was a game on PJ was watching it. The greatest joy in PJ's life was her family and anything chocolate to eat. She loved watching James Bond and Star Wars movies. PJ often reminisced about the fun and friendship she shared with her best friend Jim of 73 years. PJ loved fishing at Lake Keystone and had dreams of building a chalet on her lake lots.

PJ is preceded in death by her beloved dog Spenser and parents Buford and Clarice Martin. PJ is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Orr and Ann Martin. PJ’s three children, Michael Martin, Kimberly Conklin, and Suzi Pabitzky. Grandchildren, Brooke Gamble, Dustin Snell, Amanda Wood, Ashley Long, Aubrey Collins, Michael Martin, and Kaley Fields. Great-Grandchildren, Gunner Wilmore, Weston Gamble, Bryler Gamble, Braxton Harless, Kash Long, Makynley Long, Killian Dohn, Beau Martin, Blake Martin, Lucas Fields, Christian Fields, and Jackson Fields.
